Looking Forward

We continue to support our owners and the holiday property industry and are staying positive looking to the future. In months to come, we will have a nation of people desperate to get away as soon as they are able to, and that is where you come in.

Following on from our Advice for Property owners article, now is a better time than ever to make sure your pricing and availability is up to date for dates far into the future, including the latter half of this year, 2021 and even 2022. For a reminder on how to add pricing and seasons here is a link to our article. You have the ability to set your calendar to display dates as far into the future as you would like. You can do this by logging into your Admin and clicking 'Site Settings'. Click on the 'Settings' tab and within here you will be able to change the 'Visible Calendar Months'. Let us know if you need any assistance in doing this.

If you would rather have a conversation with a guest at this time as opposed to letting them book their stay you can turn off the ability for them to book online so they will be prompted to make an enquiry or give you a call. You can do this by unchecking the 'Online Bookings Enabled' box within a Season. Again, please let us know if you would like assistance with this.

At a time when everyone is counting their pennies it might not feel like a good idea to book a holiday even if it is for in a year's time. In order to help people you could consider temporarily lowering your booking deposits and allowing guests a longer period to pay for their stay. You can edit these by clicking on a property within your admin and going to 'Edit' and clicking on the 'Billing' tab.

Use this time wisely to make improvements to your websites. Whether that is writing blog articles or creating new holiday ideas, adding new content to your website is a great help in improving its search presence. Stay active on social media, show you are still a business that is in fact open and maybe even use it to promote those stays that are further in the future.

We have written an article on ways in which the Government are providing support for holiday property businesses. If you are set up as a registered company then this may apply to you. You can see the article here.

Although we may no longer be working from our office, it is still business as usual for us, feel free to email help@scrumpy.co.uk at any time and we will be sure to respond or give you a call. We are more than happy to assist with any of the above or advise where we can on the current situation. Thank you for your continued support.
